Volunteer
Monterey State Historic Park has an active volunteer program that not only assists with park operations, but also strengthens its partnership with the community. Over 125 registered volunteers support many aspects of the park's operation, including working as clerks at the Cooper Museum Store, instructing children's educational programs two days a week, serving as docents at the Robert Louis Stevenson House, helping out at the park's several historic gardens, and performing as living history characters at special events.
In return, park volunteers participate in special free educational programs, field trips and training. Volunteer Coordinator Michael Green considers volunteers to be a special extension of the park family, acknowledging that "we couldn't do half of what we do without these unselfish, committed people."
If you are interested in being a volunteer, please call (831) 649-7136.
Thank you!
